At the Fall 2002 Snake River Swimming House of Delegates meeting, the following motion was unanimously
passed:
RESOLVED, that, beginning in 2003, if any year-round team does not send at least one adult
representative to the House of Delegates meeting held in the Fall of the prior year, that team’s annual
registration fee shall be doubled.
No 2008 Club renewal will be processed until after this year’s House of Delegates meeting.
Watch the Snake River web site for the date and location of this year’s meeting.
Use current year forms, DISCARD previous year’s forms - 2007 forms will be returned without being processed. Please read the instructions
carefully. Make copies of forms as needed, or contact me before you run out of forms; forms are also available on this website.
Registration forms and other information regarding USA Swimming and Snake River Swimming may be found
at the LSC’s official website:
www.snakeriverswimming.org.
All membership application forms must be signed by the applicant, parent, or guardian.
Birth certificates are still required for NEW athletes.
Foreign athletes (members of a FINA Federation) need to complete the Notification of Membership
in USA Swimming (click to download) in addition to a registration form. Photocopy the passport for use in verifying legal name
and birth date.
Registration Coordinators should give each athlete his/her membership card! Not only does the membership card belong to the athlete, it
is the best way to ensure that the correct information has been entered for the individual.
If a second copy of the card is needed, contact the Registration Chairman
Please send timely address changes so your swimmers' correct address will be part of the USA Swimming
mailing list (Splash, for example). Return postage is costly.
Coach Membership Applications will not be processed without accompanying copies of current CPR,
First Aid, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches certificates. Visit the
USA Swimming web site to download the Coaches Education Curriculum and the current list of
Requirements and Equivalents (or download them here). Do not send copies of WSI or instructor cards, as these are not accepted
by USA Swimming.
Coaches must maintain current certifications at all times. If ANY one of a coach’s certifications
is not current, the coach’s membership is invalid and the insurance provided for coaching activities
(practice &/or competitions)is no longer in effect.
Allowing certifications to expire jeopardizes
the insurance coverage for the team. A coach registering for the first time should download the New
Coach Requirements FAQ from USA Swimming. A new coach must successfully complete the Foundations of
Coaching test before registering for the second year as a coach. The test may be found at
www.swimmingcoach.org.
Coaches who registered for the first time this past year must complete the new Education
Requirement and enclose a copy of the certificate with their next year’s registration as well as
the other required certifications (CPR, etc.).
A new coach from 2007 will not be registered for 2008
without proof of completion of the Education Requirement.
If your team's coach of record registered for the first time in 2007, this means your team cannot
register for 2008 year until the coach has successfully completed the test. Encourage any new
coaches with your team to take the test online at
www.swimmingcoach.org.
Coaches must remain current with their Background Check.
Be aware of dates: if your club will be participating in a swim meet in early January, those
athletes participating must be re-registered by the entry date of the meet. Clubs entering
unregistered swimmers in meets will be subject to a $25 fine (plus the cost of registration)
per swimmer.
Download the Statement of Verification for
penalty information.
Athletes or Non-Athletes who transfer from another LSC or within Snake River must complete the
appropriate form and mail it to the above address. Athletes must include name and club code of
their previous club, as well as the last date of competition with the previous club.
Download the Transfer Form or the Non-Athlete Transfer Form
Deadlines
Teams must register by December 1, 2007 to take advantage of the reduced registration fee.
New swimmers should register as soon as possible after they join a club.
The date of registration is the envelope’s postmark, hand-delivered registrations are dated the day of receipt.
